Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking a senior level associate or counsel attorney for its growing national energy law practice to work in Washington D.C., New York, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Anchorage, or Bellevue. The candidate should have at least six years of FERC-related experience, including experience on electric regulatory matters.  Experience with FERC natural gas rate cases and certificate matters, NERC regulation and enforcement matters, and hydroelectric licensing and project development is a plus, but is not required. For the candidate interested in our New York office in particular, experience with regulation under the New York Public Service Law and proceedings before the New York PSC is a strong plus.

The associate or counsel will work on electric regulatory matters for a nation-wide mix of clients. They will interact directly with clients with the goal of taking on responsibility to manage aspects of even complex cases independently. They will also be given the training and resources to begin developing their own clients.

Candidates must have a J.D. and local bar membership is a plus.  Prior law firm experience or employment at FERC is not required, but would be very beneficial.

Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is an AmLaw 100 law firm with eight offices nationwide. We are relentlessly committed to client service and look for candidates who share that commitment. At DWT, client service means having empathy for each client’s and each lawyer’s work and personal pressures, business objectives, and legal needs; anticipating their needs; and having the capabilities and commitment to deliver what matters most to them.
