Introducing MuBANY's 2020 - 2021 Officers And Directors + Letter From President
Letter From the President
I hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy during this time. It is an honor and a privilege to serve as MuBANY's President for the 2020 - 2022 term. I want to thank my predecessor, Umair Khan, for all that he did to lead MuBANY to this point. I would also like to congratulate the new Officers and Directors elected to the Board at last week's Annual General Meeting. I can't wait to see what we do together!
We are living through what is hopefully a turning point in our nation’s history. As MuBANY expressed in our statement in support of racial and social justice, we hope to approach this term in a way that creates space for all of us to listen, reflect, and consider how we can support addressing these systemic failures and empower those within our communities whose voices are often not given space. With that intention, we also hope to assist our membership and surrounding communities with post-COVID needs.
To ensure we are doing this in a thoughtful and diligent manner, in late July, we will hold a virtual Board retreat. At this retreat, the Board will identify concrete goals for the organization. We look forward to sharing these with you after the retreat!
For MuBANY to be successful in achieving our goals, we need your help. Become a member or renew your membership, and contribute to this conversation by hosting an event or letting us know about your ideas, thoughts, and approaches for this moment. This is MuBANY's moment to lead. Come lead with us!
Best,
Sania W. Khan
President, MuBANY
