MuBANY Letter of Support for H.R. 2590 - Defending the Human Rights of Palestinian Children and Families Living Under Israeli Military Occupation Act

On June 18, 2021 MuBANY delivered its letter of support for the pending legislation, H.R. 2590 - “Defending the Human Rights of Palestinian Children and Families Living Under Israeli Military Occupation Act” - to all members of the New York Congressional delegation. This bill serves to promote and protect the human rights of Palestinians living under Israeli military occupation and to ensure that United States taxpayer funds are not used by the State of Israel to support the military detention of Palestinian children, the unlawful seizure, appropriation, and destruction of Palestinian property, the forcible transfer of civilians in the West Bank, or the further annexation of Palestinian land in violation of international law.
MuBANY recognizes the recent increase in hate crimes within both the Muslim American and Jewish American communities. It goes without saying that supporting the just and humane treatment of all people, and in the case of this bill Palestinian lives, does not come at the expense of any other group. MuBANY stands expressly against all forms of hate and discrimination against all people.
